Strikers Sign Former Italian National Team Forward Amauri

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Tuesday) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of Italian international forward Amauri. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Amauri has appeared with the Italian national team and featured for illustrious clubs such as Juventus, Fiorentina and Parma. He most recently featured for Serie A side Torino as recently as February of 2016.

"He has the top resume in NASL today. He has featured for Juventus, Parma, Torino, Napoli and other big clubs This is one more major investment of ours into the Strikers and NASL," said Strikers Managing Director Luis Cuccatti.

Amauri has scored 77 times for clubs in the Italian top flight during an illustrious career that included six seasons in European competition.

The Strikers face local rival Miami FC on Saturday at FIU Stadium in Miami. Amauri is available for selection in that match.
