Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

FORT LAUDERDALE - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced that Goalkeeper Matias Reynares who featured for the club's U-19 and U-23 sides including on the U-19 team's recent visit to China to participate in the Weifang Cup has been promoted to first team action. Reynares has served as starting goalkeeper Bruno's backup for each of the last two NASL matches.

Additionally, Goalkeeper Diego Restrepo has been sold to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Per team policy, specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Restrepo started eleven league games in addition to four US Open Cup games for the Strikers. Restrepo played all 120 minutes in Fort Lauderdale's historic 2-1 U.S. Open Cup victory on June 29, 2016 over in-state rival Orlando City SC.

Bruno, who has started the last seven games for the Strikers remains the first choice goalkeeper. The Brazilian netminder has a 0.57 Goals against average in his last seven starts and has lost just one game in that period. Bruno recorded eight saves on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale's 0-0 draw with New York. The effort coupled with a clean sheet against Minnesota midweek saw Bruno named to the NASL Team of the Week which announced earlier Wednesday.
