Striebel, Prossner Lead Barrage to 16-15 Victory Over the Pride

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier outdoor lacrosse league, defeated the New Jersey Pride with a score of 16-15 in front on 2,071 fans. Matt Striebel was named Bud Light MVP with four goals and one assist for five points. New Jersey opened up the scoring early in the first quarter with a goal by Adam Doneger 36 seconds in. Philadelphia answered back with three goals in a row from Jed Prossner (A), Michael Springer (A) and Matt Striebel (M). Rookie Matt Zash (M) made himself known on the field with an assist on Prossner's goal. The Pride came back to tie the game to lead 4-3 at the end of the first. Scott Urick () gave New Jersey a two-goal cushion early in the second. Striebel scored his second of the night tying the game up for the Barrage. Prossner scored two in a row, giving him a hat trick and putting the Barrage up by two. New Jersey answered Philadelphia's three goals with three of their own. B.J. Prager and Springer scored for the Barrage, tying the game. The score at the end of the first half was 8-8. Prager scored his second goal of the night to open up the second half. Doneger answered right back keeping the score tied at 9-9. Philadelphia pulled ahead with two goals by Roy Colsey (M) to end the third quarter. New Jersey tied the game at 11-11 to start off the fourth quarter. Justin Smith and Prager scored to put the Barrage ahead again. Both teams went goal for goal to the end of the quarter but New Jersey couldn't pull ahead. The Barrage came out on top with the final scored 16-15. Philadelphia begins their three-week road trip with their first stop in Chicago. The Barrage return home on June 29 against the Boston Cannons.
