
Stortini Leads B-Sens Past Phantoms in First Return to Allentown

ALLENTOWN, P.A. - The Binghamton Senators snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in their first matchup of the 2015-16 season. Former Phantom Zack Stortini led the B-Sens offensively with two goals along with David Dziurzynski and Eric O'Dell picking up one goal and one assist each and Colin Greening tallying two assists.
O'Dell opened the scoring for Binghamton 1:59 into the first period after redirecting a shot from Tobias Lindberg on the power play to give the visitors the early lead. The B-Sens took the lead into the first intermission despite trailing the Phantoms 10-6 in shots.
Tim Brent evened the score with the Phantoms only goal of the night 1:09 into the second period during a Lehigh Valley power play. Stortini broke the tie and recorded his first goal as a B-Sen with less than four minutes to play off assists from Greening and Dziurzynski. The goal allowed Binghamton to take the one goal lead into the final intermission.
Dziurzynski gave the Sens a two goal cushion after redirecting a shot from Guillaume Lepine in front of Phantoms' goaltender Jason LaBarbera at the 14:31 mark of the final period. Stortini notched his second goal of the game a little over a minute later insuring the B-Sens win.
Chris Driedger stopped 31 shots for his fourth win of the year while LaBarbera had 23 saves in the losing effort.
