Defensive Player of the Week: Tyler Knight (LB, Sioux Falls Storm)
The three-time defending United Bowl Champion Sioux Falls Storm are off to a fast start in 2014. The team is 2-0 after defeating both Intense Conference playoff teams from a year ago (Week 1, 52-35 over Nebraska/Week 2, 41-30 over Colorado). Against the Ice, LB Tyler Knight made his presence felt. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is proving that 2013 was no fluke. He tallied a league high 15 tackles during the contest, leading the Storm's defensive unit which allowed the Ice to convert only 4 of 12 third down attempts. The schedule does not get any easier for the Storm, who will travel to take on the Tri-Cities Fever this weekend.
Honorable Mention:
Pig Brown (LB, Nebraska Danger)
Lionell Singleton (DB, Tri-Cities Fever)
David Stlouis (LB, Wyoming Cavalry)
Joe Thornton (LB, Colorado Ice)
