Storm's Powell and Glaves Receive Player Awards for Week #13

Anaheim, CA (March 31, 2005) - For the first time this season, Anaheim Storm players top the list for the National Lacrosse League's weekly player awards. Storm forward and assistant captain, Casey Powell, was honored as Overall Player of the Week for Week 13 and Storm defenseman Rory Glaves was honored as Rookie of the Week.
Powell led the Storm with 17 points (6G, 11A) in a home-and-home series against the San Jose Stealth last weekend. On Friday, Powell scored four goals and added six assists for ten points and collected three loose balls in a 15-14 road loss. On his home turf Saturday, Powell scored two goals and added five assists for seven points and collected nine loose balls. The Storm took the win in overtime, 13-12, and ended an eight-game losing streak
On defense for the Storm, Glaves held San Jose's leading scorer, Gary Rosyski, to one goal this weekend. His first season with the National Lacrosse League and the Anaheim Storm, Glaves recorded an assist and collected three loose balls in the two games. He had one assist and two loose balls Friday and one loose ball Saturday.
The Anaheim Storm (3-9) face the Colorado Mammoth (7-5) this Saturday in Colorado. The Storm are 0-2 this season against the Mammoth. They then return home on Saturday, April 9, to face the Minnesota Swarm (3-10). Anaheim is 1-0 against them this season after an 8-7 win in Minnesota on January 28.
