Sioux Falls, SD- The Sioux Falls Storm improved to 15-0, after winning against the Cedar Rapids Titans on June 27th at the Storm Shelter. The Storm had a 34-12 victory. After tonight's victory, the Sioux Falls Storm was crowned United Conference Champions; the Storm has won six consecutive conference championships.
The Storm controlled both sides of the ball to seal the Titan's fate. The Storm would first strike in the first quarter when Lorenzo Brown would keep the ball and turn it into six points. That would put the Storm in the lead at 7-3 after Parker Douglass' extra point was successful.
Brandon Johnson-Farrell finished the game with 58 yards, two kickoff returns for 52 yards and six yards on one reception, compiling a total of one touchdown. Storm quarterback, Lorenzo Brown threw for 77 yards while completing 11 out of 21 of his passes, throwing a total of one touchdown and one interception. Brown also rushed for 38 yards on 12 attempts with one touchdown. Judd Harrold finished the game with 36 yards off of four receptions.
Rolandan Finch II, the 5'10" running back from Boston College owned the longest play of the night with a 21-yard rush. Rolandan Finch finished with 59 yards on eight rushing attempts. The Storm Thunder Defense compiled 39 total tackles, seven of which were for a loss, three sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The Titan's quarterback, Willie Copeland threw for 87 yards while completing 11 of 22 of his passes, and threw one interception. Copeland also rushed for 13 yards on six attempts earning one touchdown. Charle Watkins finished the game with 46 yards off of seven receptions.
The Sioux Falls will host the three-time Intense Conference Champions, the Nebraska Danger on July 11th for the 2015 United Bowl Championship. Kickoff is set for 5:05 pm at the Storm Shelter.
