Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm is set to renew their once raucous rivalry with the Sioux City Bandits. The teams will meet in a pre-season scrimmage tomorrow night at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA.
Throughout the Storm's history, they have played the Sioux City Bandits more than any other franchise. The Storm holds the edge in their contests with the Bandits, boasting a record of 21 wins and 7 losses. In 2005, the Storm defeated the Bandits to capture their first United Bowl Championship.
Two years ago the Bandits made the transition to the CPIFL, marking the end of their seasonal meetings.
"We are excited to renew this rivalry," states Storm owner Todd Tryon. "It's been fun to keep in touch with Sioux City the past few years and help each other out when possible. Although this will only be an exhibition game, it will be a great chance to evaluate a lot of new talent against a quality program. I hope this is a step toward renewing what was one of the best rivalries in all of indoor football."
Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, IA. The Storm regular season begins on February 21st with a 2013 United Bowl rematch vs. the Nebraska Danger at the Sioux Falls Arena. For tickets and information, visit www.siouxfallsstorm.com or call 274-6686.
