Island Storm News Release
(Charlottetown, PE) Following Tuesday night's exhibition win over the Saint John Mill Rats, the Island STORM have made more player moves getting ready for the teams home opener Thursday November 6th at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.
The STORM has traded Dwayne Smith to the Moncton Miracles for their 1st round draft pick in the 2015 NBL Canada Draft. With this trade, the STORM now have four 1st round picks in next year's draft after receiving Brampton's 1st round pick and a 1st round pick the A's received in a trade with Halifax. The STORM received both Brampton's picks in a trade last week sending Chris Cayole to the A's.
The STORM also released Adrian Moss and Davon Haynes today.
"It was a deep training camp this year, without a doubt the deepest and most competitive in STORM history." said STORM Head Coach Joe Salerno. "We brought 21 players to camp and we eventually need to get down to 12 so ultimately it's all about putting the best mix of players on the court to try and win a championship. We thank Adrian and Dwayne for their contributions to STORM successes in the past and wish them well in the future. We also thank Davon and wish him future success."
Next action for the STORM comes up this Friday when they travel to Halifax to take on the Halifax Rainmen in a rare 10:30 am game. This will be the STORM's last exhibition game before they take on the Mill Rats in their home opener Thursday November 6th at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.
