Storm Tracker for February 11th

February 11, 2009 - Xtreme Soccer League (XSL)
Chicago Storm News Release

Six weeks is a long time to be away from home, and while the Storm players haven't been gone from the city that long, they haven't played an XSL game on the Sears Centre carpet since Jan. 4.

Finally, at 3 p.m. Sunday, they get back to familiar ground in a rematch with the New Jersey Ironmen.

The game features the XSL's leading scorer, Lucio Gonzaga, against Storm keeper Jeff Richey, tops in minutes played and points allowed per game. Richey got the best of Lucio and the Ironmen last Sunday in an 18-12 win -- see the best of Richey at Chicagostorm.net.

THROW BALLS, WIN PRIZES

It's not quite that easy -- you actually have to be accurate -- but the Cricket mini-ball toss at halftime of Sunday's game is a great way to have fun and support the Kids-4-Soccer foundation.

Buy balls at the table outside section 110 for $1 each or 6 for $5. When the Cricket Communications car rolls slowly across the field at halftime, try to toss your ball into the open window.

Kids-4-Soccer is the Storm's nonprofit organization introducing soccer to underprivileged youth.

SCHOOLS RULE

At least they did on Tuesday for the Storming Schools game at the Sears Centre, when nearly 3,000 students saw the Storm defeat the Chicago Tormenta.

The Storming Schools program sends professional players into area schools with messages of hard work, bravery and respect. Participating schools then visit the Sears Centre for an exhibition game to see the players they've met in action.

It's never too early to get your school involved in Storming Schools for 2008-09. Contact Jennifer Drankie at 1-866-STORM81 to learn more about the program.
