Seattle Storm News Release
SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm announced today its final game of the 2024 preseason as the team hosts the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m. at Climate Pledge Arena.
The Storm welcomes Diana Taurasi along with newcomers Natasha Cloud, Kahleah Copper, and the rest of the Phoenix Mercury to Seattle to close out the preseason slate prior to opening the regular season a week later. The Storm opens the preseason against the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Canada Game in Edmonton, Alberta, on Sunday, May 5.
Tickets for the Storm's preseason game are included in all Storm 360 Season Ticket Memberships. For non-members, preseason game tickets can be added on to any new or existing mini-plan packages, and are also available now for groups of 10 or more. Single-game tickets go on sale at a later date.
The new look Storm is led by five-time All-Star guard Jewell Loyd, who is coming off a record-breaking 2023 campaign where she scored a WNBA record 939 points and averaged a league-best 24.7 ppg. Loyd is joined by a pair of prolific scorers in 2024 in guard Skylar Diggins-Smith and forward Nneka Ogwumike. Ogwumike (19.1 ppg), Diggins-Smith (19.7) and Loyd (24.7) combined to average 63.5 ppg with their respective teams in their last season played, the highest combined total of any trio on a current WNBA roster. Seattle also welcomes back all-star center and two-time all-defensive pick Ezi Magbegor, who averaged a career-best 13.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game in 2023.
The Storm tips off the 2024 season presented by Symetra on Tuesday, May 14, hosting the Minnesota Lynx as Providence Swedish presents Opening Night at Climate Pledge Arena. After a three-game road trip through Minnesota, New York and Washington, Seattle returns home to face the Indiana Fever including 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston and presumptive No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark on Wednesday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m.
Season Tickets, Storm Mini Plans, and Group Experiences are available for the 2024 season while single game tickets go on sale later this spring. For more info, visit http://stormbasketball.com, or call 206-217-WNBA (9622).
