INDIANAPOLIS - Pacers Sports & Entertainment and the Marcus Graham Project (MGP) announce their continued partnership for the third consecutive year, and, for the first time, this workshop will focus primarily on a WNBA team - the Indiana Fever.
The immersive workshop, taking place May 28-31, 2024, aims to provide aspiring Hoosier professionals with a unique hands-on experience and exposure to the sports and entertainment industry. This initiative will enable participants to network with PS&E leadership and staff, and collaborate on projects focusing on guest experience, digital media, marketing, and more, while gaining valuable mentorship and insights.
For the first time in the three-year partnership, the experience will focus on the Indiana Fever, allowing participants to see a professional women's team and encounter first-hand the growing excitement surrounding women's sports, specifically, basketball.
"MGP successfully creates the two-way street needed to continue building a stronger, more diverse workforce in the sports and entertainment industry, and we are proud to once again partner with them to provide this experience to talented young professionals in Indiana," said Rick Fuson, PS&E Chief Executive Officer. "I am particularly excited for these participants to experience the excitement of women's sports and how its evolution is impacting our business."
As one of the inaugural grantees of the NBA Foundation, the MGP continues to drive economic empowerment and career advancement within Black communities. While emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the partnership, MGP co-founder and Chief Development Officer Larry Yarrell II said, "This workshop, the first to include a focus on a WNBA team, is an indication that the organization and community are committed to removing barriers for minority talent."
In addition to project-based learning and networking opportunities, one standout participant will be selected to attend MGP's iCR8 Summer BootCamp located in Los Angeles.
Applications for this transformative experience are now open through May 10, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit www.pacers.com/mgp.
