Game Preview: Fever at Lynx

The Fever head to Minnesota for their regular season finale on Thursday against the Lynx. Indiana defeated the Lynx on Tuesday, 96-77, and gained some critical momentum as the WNBA rolls towards the postseason.
Indiana was strong in its final home game of the season and looks to repeat that performance on Thursday in Minnesota. The Fever were dominant in the first half and had a lead of as many as 29 points before the Lynx made a push. Indiana endured the late game surge from Minnesota as Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston scored a combined 64 points to capture the win.
The Lynx were without leading scorer Olivia Miles on Tuesday as she was sidelined with a calf injury. Her status for Thursday's rematch is unclear. Should Miles remain on the bench, Minnesota will lean heavily on Napheesa Collier's offense.
Collier averages north of 18 points per game and is a perennial member of the All-WNBA first team. Boston and Makayla Timpson will have their hands full in the post as they battle Collier.
Minnesota has locked in the first overall seed for the playoffs, but Indiana can still move up. If the Atlanta Dream lose their regular season finale against the Liberty on Wednesday and the Fever win on Thursday, Indiana can slot into the fourth place. That would give the Fever home court advantage for the first round of playoffs.
Regardless of postseason positioning, Thursday's matchup is critical for a Fever squad looking to maintain some rhythm it recovered on Tuesday. Indiana had a rocky return to action after the FIBA World Cup break, but finally found a groove in its win over the Lynx. They'll look to follow that up with a solid regular season finale on Thursday.
