Storm throttles Mayhem

December 10, 2004 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Great Lakes Storm News Release

Birch Run, MI – The Great Lakes Storm won the game tonight against the Michigan Mayhem 112-75 (7.0, 0.0) to move to 5-5 on the season. This is the second time the Storm has swept all 7 quarter points against the Mayhem. Michigan moves to 2-7 on the young season.

After a big loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce two nights ago, the Storm were not about to let the expansion Mayhem come into their house and jump out to a quick lead. After an early surge by the Mayhem, the Storm settled in and took the first quarter 27-20. Mark Jones had a terrific start as he scored 13 of his game high 25 points in the opening quarter. It was much of the same in the second quarter as the Storm bolted out to a 22 point halftime lead. The third quarter started out with some fireworks as tempers flared on both sides. This resulted in two technicals on the Mayhem coaching staff and another technical a few moments later on Deeandre Hulett. The Storm would settle in and won the third quarter 24-22. Tommy Adams provided a spark off the bench as he scored 11 points in the final quarter to help the Storm sweep the quarter points. The Storm's next game is on Saturday, December 11th against the Rockford Lightning. Tip-off is set for 7:05 at the Birch Run Expo Center.
