
Storm Survives Long Road Trip

Kennewick, WA - Parker Douglass's point after touchdown in overtime gave the Sioux Falls Storm a 73-72 victory on the road over the Tri-Cities Fever on Saturday night. The Storm moves to 11-0 on the season, while Tri-Cities falls to 10-2.
Both teams exchanged points throughout the game. After being tied at 13 after the first quarter, both offenses exploded in the second. The Storm held a 45-41 lead after the first half. In the second half, the Storm outscored the Fever 14-13 in the third, but the Fever bounced back with a 12-7 advantage in the fourth, leading to a 66-66 tie at the end of regulation.
The Fever scored first in overtime when Houston Lillard found Dennis Kennedy for a five-yard touchdown. Michael Taylor was not able to convert on the point after touchdown. The Storm answered back on their overtime possession when quarterback Chris Dixon ran in a touchdown from 14 yards out. Parker Douglass connected on the point after touchdown sealing the victory.
Dixon led the Storm offensive. He threw for 293 yards and eight touchdowns. He also added 64 yards and two rushing touchdowns to his night. Wide receiver Carl Sims caught eight passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Justin Welch led the team in tackles with six. Defensive lineman Rachman Crable added four unassisted tackles and one sack.
The Storm finishes its three game road trip next week in Wyoming. Wyoming is 4-8 on the season and enters the game following a victory over New Mexico on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for Friday night at 8:05. The Storm will return home to face Colorado on June 9th. Tickets are available through the Arena Box Office.
