Sioux Falls Storm News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm are excited to announce the signings of wide receivers Damian Ford, Corey Jones and Brandon Sheperd for the 2019 season.

Ford (6'3, 200) will be returning to the Storm for his second season. During six games in the 2018 season, Damian recorded 31 receptions for 401 yards and eight touchdowns. He earned week 16 IFL Offensive Player of the Week after grabbing two touchdowns and 162 yards.

"We are excited to have Ford back for 2019 and to have him as we kick off the season," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Damian became our leading receiver in the latter part of the season as we went on our playoff run. Damian understands the game very well and has an excellent feel for what we try to accomplish offensively."

Jones (5'9, 165) will be entering his first season with the Storm. Corey finished his senior season at the University of Toledo with 817 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 66 catches. He was also a threat in the return game with 671 yards on kickoffs.

"Explosive. The Storm has not had an explosive wide receiver like Corey Jones that can run routes and carry the ball since Korey Williams," stated Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Corey has a unique skill set that allows us to utilize him in many different ways."

Sheperd (6'2, 195) will be entering his first season with the Storm. Brandon played collegiately at Oklahoma State University where he tallied 69 receptions for 1,184 yards and eight touchdowns. He ranked third in the Big 12 and 20th nationally with 18.9 yards per reception in 2014.

"Immediate home run threat," stated Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Brandon is capable of a big play on every play. He has great size and speed that will allow our offense to stretch the field.

The Storm home opener is March 22, 2019. Season tickets are on sale, visit www.siouxfallsstorm.com to renew/purchase your tickets.
