Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that the Black Hills Red Dogs (1-13) will enter the "Storm Shelter" for the second time this season on Saturday, July 9, for a 7:05 PM kickoff. This is the fourth meeting between the two teams with the Storm having the 3-0 lead in the series and an average margin of victory of 31 points. The night's game will be sponsored by the University of South Dakota, along with the American Cancer Society as the non-profit. The theme will be "Kids Night" with the first 2,000 kids to the game receiving Storm trading cards of some of your favorite players to watch, including: Mark Blackburn, Shannon Poppinga, John Semchenko, Adam Hicks, Nate Fluit, and "Mr. Utility" James Jones.
The Storm (7-7) suffered a tough loss this past weekend to the Omaha Beef in a 49-44 battle. Sioux Falls has clinch a play-off birth in the first ever UIF play-offs and could earn as high as a four seed if Omaha loses their remaining two games (at home vs. Sioux City, and on the road to Tennessee Valley) and if the Storm can win out. Sioux Falls will close out the regular season next Friday, July 15, in Sioux City, IA, with a 7:00 PM kickoff to take on the Bandits. This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season, with the Bandits having the 2-0 advantage. There are still spots open on the "Storm Chaser" fan bus to Sioux City. Stop in the Storm office of call 605-332-4225 to reserve you spot today.
The Storm versus Red Dogs game will be taped for television and replayed on Sunday, July 10, at 7:00 PM, on KCPO. KCPO is a local television station and can be seen on more than a 100 cable systems across South Dakota and Minnesota (Sioux Falls cable 21) including Harrisburg, Tea, Lennox, Parker, Chancellor, Watertown and Worthing on channel 4 and Brandon, Garretson, Dell Rapids and Valley Springs channel 12 and Minnesota communities on channel 9. Check local listings for KCPO's channel position in other cities.
