Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that team surgeon; Dr. Pete Looby of the Orthopedic Institute took first place in the T1 Class of the Kohler/Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Region June Sprints, on June 26, 2005. After two days of qualifying, Sunday's race provided a great final day closing out the three-day event at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Touring 1 competitor Dr. Pete Looby, of Sioux Falls, SD, won a caution-filled Group 6 race. Looby started fourth on the grid in his Orthopedic Institute/Classic Import Repair 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, but soon darted to the front where he would stay for the duration. Polesitter Lance Knupp, of Fenton, MI, valiantly tried to catch Looby, but Looby ran out front running the fastest lap (2:28.621) of the Group on the 12th lap of the 13-lap race to cement the victory. So far this season Looby has finished first place five times in his seven starts he has partaken in. Other than the June Sprints, Looby has first place finishes in both the Mid America Motorplex and the Gateway in St. Louis (both of which he now has the track records).
