The Sioux Falls Storm is excited to announce the signing of Herschel Dennis and Omar Nazel for the 2011 season.

Herschel Dennis, nicknamed ‚¬Å“Patch, ‚¬Â attended the University of Southern California from 2002 until 2008. Dennis was the starting running back for the Trojans in 2003 and rushed for 661 yards and four touchdowns. After two knee injuries and serving as a backup to the New Orleans Saints ‚¬â„¢ Reggie Bush, Dennis played his senior season in 2008, rushing for a touchdown in the Rose Bowl against Illinois. Dennis finished his career with 1,057 rushing yards and won more games than any other collegiate athlete in history (70).

Omar Nazel joins the Storm after playing at USC from 1999-2004. The 6 ‚¬Â6 ‚¬â„¢, 250lb. defensive end then played with Seattle, Cleveland and St. Louis in the NFL. In his junior season, Nazel started all 13 games at defensive end, accumulating 28 tackles (10.5 for loss), 6.5 sacks, one interception, seven pass deflections and one forced fumble. He earned the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week award for his performance against Oregon State (seven tackles, two sacks, one pass deflection and a forced fumble). In his senior season, he had surgery on his thumb but still managed to finish with 27 tackles and four sacks. For his collegiate career, he totaled 80 tackles, 13.5 sacks, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
