Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing of former University of South Dakota (USD) and Sioux City Bandit kicker Cody Butler. The signing is made in order to replace the injured Adam Hicks for this week's game against the Rock River Raptors. Hicks suffered an injury in last week's Omaha game and will not be able to suite up for Saturday night's game.

In 2005, Butler kicked for the Sioux City Bandits. In his rookie campaign, Cody was 8-for-23 on field goal attempts and 79-for-107 on PAT's.

Butler had a storied career at USD where he still holds numerous school records including points by a kicker in a season (87), PATs made in a season (51), and career field goal percentage (73%). Butler currently stands at 5th place on the all-time Coyote scoring list.

Most recently, Butler was in training camp with Arena Football2's Spokane Shock.

"The timing of bringing Cody in could've been better. He was just released by the team in Spokane and was heading back to the Midwest. Unfortunately Adam Hicks might be out a couple weeks, but we confidence in Cody and his abilities to fill in for Adam for a few weeks," says General Manager, Colin Steen.

The home opener for the Storm will be Saturday, April 8 for a "Championship Re-Match" as the Sioux City Bandits enter the Sioux Falls Arena.
