
Storm Signs Forward Shyra Ely

SEATTLE, Thursday, March 6, 2008 - Seattle Storm Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Brian Agler announced today the signing of 6-2 forward Shyra Ely to the 2008 training camp roster.
Ely appeared in 29 games for the Storm during the 2007 season, averaging 2.2 points, 1.3 rebounds per game. Ely shot a career high of 33.3% from beyond the three-point line during the 2007 season, and grabbed her 100th career rebound vs. Detroit on June 20, 2007.
The 2005 graduate at the University of Tennessee, Ely was the 14th overall selection of the San Antonio Silver Stars in the WNBA Draft. During her college career, Ely was named an AP All-American Honorable Mention selection and an All-SEC First Team selection as a senior.
