Anaheim Storm News Release

Anaheim, CA (January 6, 2004) - This Saturday, January 10th, the Anaheim Storm kick-off the National Lacrosse League's first season in Southern California. The ball drops at 7:30 p.m. when Casey Powell, Marc Morley and the rest of the Storm line-up face-off against the Arizona Sting at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

New to Southern California this year, the team is anxious to introduce professional indoor lacrosse to local sports fans. Indoor lacrosse has a faster pace and more scoring than the traditional field game which is played by many youth and adults.

"When people see the indoor game, they love it and instantly become fans," said Head Coach Peter Vipond. "The game is fast, the players are aggressive and the action is nonstop."

The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Anaheim Storm is the first professional indoor lacrosse team in Southern California and only the second National Lacrosse League team in the state. The Storm will play eight regular season home games; they are part of the NLL's newly formed Western Division along with Arizona, Calgary, Colorado, San Jose and Vancouver.

Individual tickets start at just $8 and are available now at ticketmaster.com, the Arrowhead Pond Box Office, by-phone at 714-740-2000 and at all Ticketmaster outlets. To order Season Ticket Packages or Group Discount Tickets, call 714-704-2670.
