Storm Returns All-IFL Defensive Back

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm are pleased to announce the return of defensive back Trey Wafford for the 2019 season.

During the 2018 season, Trey was named to the First Team All-IFL squad after accumulating 88 total tackles (59 solo), four tackles for loss, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, three interceptions and five pass breakups. Wafford was named the 2017 IFL Defensive Rookie of the Year while he emerged as one of the most physical defensive playmakers in the IFL after he concluded his rookie campaign with 129 tackles, six tackles for loss and 12 pass breakups.

Trey (5'11, 200lbs) played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State University where he finished his senior season ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 53. In his final year at Middle Tennessee State University, he tallied 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, three hurries and three pass breakups.

"One of the best defensive players in the IFL," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Trey is the player that exemplifies a player that leaves it all on the field. We are lucky to have him back."
