Storm Return Four Defensive Backs

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm is pleased to announce the signings of veteran defensive backs Jermaine Robinson, Brandon Roe, Solomon St. Pierre and Trey Wafford for the 2021 season.

Robinson (6'3, 205) enters his third season with the Storm. During his time with the Storm he's amassed 55 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, six pass break-ups and one forced fumble. Jermaine collegiately at the University of Toledo where he accrued 125 tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven interceptions, four touchdowns, 27 pass break-ups, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He was a Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection.

Roe (6'1, 200) enters his first season with the Storm. Brandon spent the 2019 season with the Nebraska Danger where he was a 2019 Second Team All-IFL honoree after he tallied 45 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, six interceptions and one pass break-up. He played collegiately at Valdosta State University where he amassed 101 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, ten interceptions, 14 pass break-ups, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

St. Pierre (5'11, 190) enters his first season with the Storm. He played for the Sioux City Bandits of the Champions Indoor Football League (CIF) during the 2018 season. After compiling 55 tackles, two tackles for loss, 11 interceptions and 13 pass break-ups Solomon was named the CIF's 2018 Co-Defensive Player of the Year, CIF All-League team and was a Northern Conference First-Team selection. Solomon played collegiately at the University of Sioux Falls where he tallied 163 tackles, two tackles for loss, 22 interceptions, 18 pass break-ups, five touchdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was a two-time All-American and was a HERO Sports National Preseason Defensive Player.

Wafford (5'11, 200) enters his third season with the Storm. During the 2019 season, he tallied 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one interception and four pass break-ups. Trey earned 2017 IFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and was a 2018 First Team All-IFL honoree. Trey played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State University where he finished his senior season ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 53. In his final year at Middle Tennessee State University, he tallied 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, three hurries and three pass breakups.

"We have a veteran group of DB's that we feel is one of the most talented groups in the league," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "We were very excited to have them kickoff the season last year and feel very lucky to get all four back for this season.."
