Sioux Falls Storm News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm are excited to announce the return of kicker Miles Bergner for the 2019 season.
Miles (6'0, 225) will be returning for his second season with the Storm. During the 2018 season, Bergner completed 65% of his field goals (ranked first in the league), made 77 extra points (ranked second in the league) and scored 143 total points (ranked first in the league). Bergner was named to the First Team All-IFL squad at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
He played collegiately at the University of South of Dakota where he is the Coyotes' all-time leading scorer with 276 points. Bergner was the 2016-17 USD Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and was named a First Team All-Missouri Valley Football place-kicker. Miles was one of 11 players selected to the FCS ADA All-America Team.
"Best kicker in the league and received some attention in the off season but not near enough," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Miles could have been considered for league MVP. We are lucky to have him back, but really he should not be here."
