Oklahoma Storm News Release

Enid, OK - (March 30, 2006) The Oklahoma Storm has officially announced the signing of Joe Adkins for the 2006 season. Adkins returns for his third season with the Storm. He secured a spot on the All-USBL Second team last season after his solid performances down the stretch that helped propel Oklahoma to a share of the Midwestern Division title.

"Bringing back a quality, local talent like Joe is what is going to add cohesion to this team," General Manager Josh Combs noted. "Joe is a proven leader on the floor and will add much needed experience to this team."

In 29 games for the Storm last season, Adkins averaged 16.1 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. After finishing the 2005 season in Enid Joe played in Uruguay. He appears to be the first of many returning starters for the Storm this season.

A four year starter for Oklahoma State University, Adkins ranks third all-time in assists and three-pointers made, fourth all-time in games played, sixth all-time in steals, and ninth all-time in games started for the Cowboys. Joe was born and raised in the Oklahoma City area where he graduated high school with numerous basketball related awards.

Oklahoma begins their quest for the 2006 USBL Championship on April 28th as they host the Nebraska Cranes. Season tickets for the Oklahoma Storm are available by calling (580) 23-STORM.
