February 20, 2008 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) has re-signed offensive lineman Nate Scheuer and Yatarrie Brown for the 2008 season. Scheuer and Brown joined Paul Keizer as the most dominating offensive line in the UIF. The Storm offensive line paved the way to 39 rushing touchdowns during the 2007 regular season.
This will mark Scheuer's sixth season with the Storm. Nate started 68 consecutive games from 2003 to 2006. Nate sat out beginning of the 2007 season and re-joined the team after injuries plagued the Storm's offensive line. The former South Dakota State University standout anchored an offensive line that, in 2006, ranked #2 in scoring offense and #3 in total offense in the UIF. Scheuer was an All-UIF Second Team selection in 2006 as the Storm offensive line allowed only 10 sacks on 390 pass attempts. In 2005, the Storm allowed only 17 sacks on over 400 pass attempts.
Brown will be entering his second season with the Storm and third season of indoor football. In 2007, he played a huge part in the offensive line that set Storm records for points (739) and rushing yards (1,196) in a season. Brown had a great year in 2007 and was rewarded by being named a 2007 UIF All-Star. Brown began his indoor career by starting for the Peoria Roughriders of the UIF during the 2006 season.
Brown played his collegiate football at Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. The 2005 season brought numerous accolades to Brown as he was named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) First-Team as well as Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Region Second Team. Brown was also named to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team. Brown led the Bears to rushing success in 2005 as the team accumulated a team record 2,867 yards. The Bears ranked 11th in Division II in rushing yards. The Bears offensive line also held opponents to just 17 sacks during their 9-3 season. Yatarrie played in 9 games in 2003 at Concordia before taking his redshirt year in 2004.
Season tickets for the 2008 season are on sale now. Call the Storm office at 332-4225 to reserve your seats for "The Biggest Show in Town" as the Storm look for their fourth championship in a row in 2008.
