
Storm Partners with Salvation Army and It Works! to "Stuff the Bus"

(Charlottetown, PE) When Island STORM Fans come to the teams annual Boxing Day game on December 26th they will notice the STORM Bus parked in front of Eastlink Centre, lights flashing and volunteers from the Salvation Army, It Works! Global, and the STORM team ready to take donations for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
The event is called "Stuff the Bus" and it starts at 12 noon on Boxing Day, 2 hours before the Island STORM take on the Moncton Miracles at Eastlink Centre. Everyone who brings a food item for our "Stuff the Bus" project gets a ballot for an opportunity to win one of three pairs of VIP Courtside tickets to the STORM's January 3rd home game. The draw for these tickets will be made at halftime of the Boxing Day Game.
The Salvation Army Food Bank in Charlottetown feeds up to 80 families a week. Captain Jamie Locke of the Salvation Army says he is pleased with the partnership. "We are pleased the Island Storm & It Works have chosen to support The Salvation Army's food bank in Charlottetown. We look forward to a great day of helping to feed the hungry and of course fantastic basketball!"
Meanwhile, Darci Salerno of It Works! Global, a company with all natural products, approved by Health Canada, such as the botanically based body contouring wrap, supplements, and skincare lines says her group is also excited to be part of this event. "It Works! Global strives to make a lasting difference in communities locally and globally through financial, practical, and emotional support and "Stuff the Bus" is a great opportunity for us to make a meaningful difference at this time of year."
The Island STORM are on the road this weekend in Moncton for a 7pm game Saturday at the Coliseum against the Miracles then come home to get ready for two big games over the holiday season, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.
