SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm open the 2019 season at 7:05pm on Saturday, February 23 against the newly rebranded Cedar Rapids River Kings.
The Storm begin this season ready to raise the bar as they look to reclaim the top spot in the IFL. In 2018, the Storm posted a 12-4 record but fell short of hoisting the United Bowl trophy after a 42-38 defeat by the Iowa Barnstormers.
The Storm return seven from last years squad including wide receiver Damian Ford, quarterback Lorenzo Brown, defensive lineman Claude Davis, kicker Miles Bergner, defensive back Trey Wafford and offensive linemen Forrestal Hickman and Lawrence Martin.
New players taking the field include running back Darrian Miller, who was the CIF's League MVP and the CIF's Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2018. Defensive backs Deshawn Hathorn and Branden Leston are entering their rookie seasons. John Prather, Kent Shelby and Brandon Sheperd will be apart of the dynamic wide receiver group.
