Storm Open 2018 Season on the Road
February 24, 2018 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm open their season at 4:05pm on Sunday against the Arizona Rattlers, defending Indoor Football League champions.
The Storm begin this season as the underdog as they look to reclaim the top spot in the IFL. In 2017, the Storm posted a league best 15-2 record but fell short of hoisting the elusive United Bowl trophy after a 50-41 defeat by the Rattlers.
The Storm return some familiar faces with veterans like wide receivers Mike Tatum, Judd Harrold and Melvin German, quarterback Lorenzo Brown, defensive lineman Claude Davis and defensive backs Jermaine Robinson and J'Vontez Blackmon.
New players taking the field include running back Lyle McCombs, who played for the Nebraska Danger in 2017. Defensive backs Jabari Gorman and Trey Wafford; Gorman was the IFL's 2016 Rookie of the Year and Wafford was the 2017 IFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. Along with center Lawrence Martin, who has spent time in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
You can cheer for the Storm by watching online through the IFL's YouTube channel, listening to Rich Roste on KELO FM 107.9 or by going to the live viewing party at Eastway Lounge.
