Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) continues to add to its 2005 roster with the re-signing of three veteran offensive linemen. Nate Scheuer, John Semchenko, and Brad Lupkes have all inked deals with the Storm for its first season in the UIF.
Scheuer will return to the front line for the third straight season. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University, where he was an all-conference performer. Semchenko will suit up for the fifth year with the defending conference champions. And Brad Lupkes, a University of Sioux Falls graduate, will return to the team for his second season of indoor football.
Those three along with Roger Pedersen, now a Storm assistant coach, helped the team rush for over 1,000 yards and 35 touchdowns and pass for 2,575 yards and 51 touchdowns in regular season play. Sioux Falls' quarterbacks were sacked just 10 times behind that line in 2004.
Nine players are now under contract with the Storm for the upcoming season. All nine are returning from last year's 13-4 squad, which hosted the national championship game.
The Storm will open play in the UIF March 19 in Omaha, Nebraska. The team's first home game will be "The Rematch" versus Lexington on April 9 at the Sioux Falls Arena. For more information or to order season tickets call the Storm office at 605-332-4225 or visit the Storm on-line at www.siouxfallsstorm.com.
