
Storm Moving into Southern Ontario this Week

(Charlottetown, PE) The longest road trip of the Island STORM season continues Tuesday as the team hits the road to Southern Ontario for games later this week in Windsor and London.
The STORM had their home opener this past Thursday where they beat the Saint John Mill Rats 108-102 in front of almost 2,400 fans. The STORM then played 2 games on the ro"â¹ad this past weekend, in Halifax Saturday night and Saint John on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday night the STORM got off to a slow start against the Rainmen finding themselves down 19 points at halftime. The STORM rallied in the 3rd quarter and came all the way back, taking a 1 point lead, until losing steam and eventually losing 101-83. The team left for Saint John following the game and Sunday afternoon fell in a nail-biter 94-92 when a last second STORM shot failed to go down to force overtime.
Statistically, the STORM is being led by the following players after 3 games:
- Brandon Robinson - over 20.5 points, 7 rebounds, and over 4.5 assists per game
- Mike Williams - 14 points, over 8.5 rebounds, and over 3 assists per game
- Renardo Sidney - 13 points and over 6.5 rebounds per game
- Nick Evans - 11 points and 9 rebounds per game
- Rashad Whack - over 9.5 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game
- Sammy Ziglinsky - 8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and over 8.5 assists per game.
The STORM now head to Upper Canada for a game this Thursday night against the Windsor Express. This will be a rematch from last year's NBL Finals and should be a good one which starts at 8 pm (AST). The STORM then head to London for a game against the Lightning Saturday night at 8 pm (AST). Both games can be seen live by visiting the NBL Canada website.
Following those 2 games in Ontario, the STORM still have 3 road games to play before getting back to the friendly confines of Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. The STORM will play at Moncton Wednesday November 19th, at Saint John on Sunday November 23rd, and Halifax on Saturday November 29th. On Sunday afternoon at 2 pm the STORM will host the Saint John Mill Rats at Eastlink Centre at 2 pm.
Meanwhile, STORM season tickets are still on sale at the Eastlink Centre Box Office and anyone who purchased a single game ticket for the home opener this past Thursday can use the cost of that ticket toward the purchase of a season ticket for the final home games.
The STORM also has a merchandise corner at Sherwood BMR on Mount Edward Road in Charlottetown with a great selection of STORM Gear. Fans may purchase STORM Gear at Sherwood BMR to get ready for the next home game or for Christmas gift buying.
In National Basketball League of Canada news, the league announced that Stanley Robinson of the Moncton Miracles has been named Player of the Week. This is the second time in his NBL career that Robinson has received this honour.
Robinson, a 6'9", 220-pound forward who played his college ball at Connecticut, helped Moncton with 28 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots in the Miracles' 117-113 home win over the Halifax Rainmen.
