Storm Looks to Take Down the Fighters

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm (4-3) will host the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Frisco Fighters (5-2) on Saturday, May 14 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. The show will start at 6:45 PM. The game is presented by South Dakota Beef Industry Council.

The Storm took the last took the field on April 29 when they won in a thrilling game against the Iowa Barnstormers 50-47. Quarterback Daniel Smith finished the game throwing 15-for-25 passes for 111 yards, two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and two interceptions. Running back Nate Chavious ran 19 times for 95 yards and caught eight passes for 43 yards. Wide receiver Aaron Dilworth reeled in two receptions for 24 yards and one touchdowns. Kicker Sawyer Petre made three field goals and five PATs. Defensive back Famus Hasty led the Thunder Defense with seven tackles. Linebackers Undraez Lilly tallied six tackles and one interception, while Paris Taylor had one pass break-up and four tackles.

In Frisco's last contest against the Arizona Rattlers, they fell short 49-35. In that game, quarterback Blake Sims threw 7-for-15 passes for 59 yards, 32 rushing yards, and two passing touchdowns. Quarterback TJ Edwards threw 7-for-13 passes for 72 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Running back Justin Rankin and wide receiver Damian Ford each had one receiving touchdown. Defensive back Trey Wafford led the defense with six tackles.
