Sioux Falls, SD- The Sioux Falls Storm improved to 12-0 after winning against the Tri-Cities Fever on June 6th at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The Storm had a 59-38 victory.
The Storm controlled both sides of the ball to seal the Fever's fate. The Storm would first strike in the first quarter when Lorenzo Brown and Brandon Johnson-Farrell connected on a four-yard touchdown reception. That would give the Storm a 6-0 lead after Parker Douglass' PAT was unsuccessful.
Brandon Johnson-Farrell finished the game with 43 yards, seven rushing attempts for 39 yards and four yards on one reception compiling two touchdowns. Storm quarterback, Lorenzo Brown threw for 125 yards while completing 9 of 15 of his passes, throwing a total of five touchdowns. Brown also rushed for 13 yards on seven attempts with one touchdown. James Terry finished the game with 11 yards off of one reception and 14 rushing yards on one attempts.
Mike Tatum, the 5'10" wide receiver from Oxnard University owned the longest play of the night with a 35-yard touchdown reception. Tatum finished the game with 78 yards off of four receptions while collecting two touchdowns. Mike also rushed for three yards on two attempts. The Storm Thunder Defense compiled 56 total tackles, six of which were for a loss, one sack, three interceptions, three pass breakups and two blocks.
The Fever's quarterback, Patrick McCain threw for 124 yards while completing 8 of 18 of his passes, throwing one touchdown and one interception. McCain also rushed for 61 yards on nine attempts. Steven Whitehead finished the game with 104 yards off of six receptions while collecting one touchdown. Whitehead also rushed for -1 yards on three attempts.
The Sioux Falls Storm will face the Green Bay Blizzard on June 13th in Green Bay. The game will kickoff at 6:00 pm.
