Storm Host Strike Force

May 30, 2019 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Sioux Falls Storm News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm (9-2) will host the newly founded San Diego Strike Force (1-10) on Saturday, June 1. Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. The show will start at 6:45 PM. Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital and Orthopedic Institute will serve as the presenting sponsor of the game.

The Storm look to extend a three-game win streak against the Strike Force. The Storm last faced the Nebraska Danger on Saturday, May 18 where the Storm won 57-56. In that game, quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed 14 passes for 204 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also had 31 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Wide receivers Brandon Sheperd each had two touchdowns and 90+ receiving yards. Kicker Parker Douglass made one field goal and made all six extra points. Linebacker T.J. Neal lead the Thunder Defense with nine tackles. Defensive backs Lorenzo White had one tackle for loss, Tre Dickerson had one interception and one pass break-up while Rick Rumph had two pass break-ups. Defensive linemen Claude Davis had one sack and Malcolm Goines had one tackle for loss.

The Strike Force look to snap a four-game losing streak. The Strike Force played the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday, May 19 where they lost 63-84. In that game, quarterback Jihad Vercher completed 19 passes for 164 yards and six touchdowns. Running backs George Moreira Jr. had 36 rushing yards and seven receiving yards for one touchdown and Dominique Carson had five rushing yards for one touchdown and 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Wide receivers Julian Stafford 28 receiving yards and one touchdown and Rashard Ridley had 22 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kicker Ernesto Lacayo made all nine extra points. The Strike Force defense had 44 tackles, one forced fumble and four pass break-ups.
