Storm Honored at NIFL Meetings
October 4, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) was presented with a handful of awards at the 2004 NIFL meetings last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Highlighting the honors were Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs' award for Pacific Conference Coach of the Year and General Manager Colin Steen's acceptance of Pacific Conference General Manager of the Year. The Storm also took home the award for best team website in the conference. It was the first time that Riggs and Steen earned those honors.
Riggs helped lead the Storm to the top seed in the 2004 NIFL playoffs and a berth in Indoor Bowl IV on August 7. Sioux Falls ended the regular season 11-3 and won its first ever Pacific Conference North Division crown. Behind Steen, the team enjoyed six sellouts and record-setting totals in corporate sponsorship and season ticket sales.
"This award is not just for me, but for our entire staff," Steen said. "We work hard every season to put out a product our fans can be proud of. This recognition is as much for them as it is for me."
Season tickets for the 2005 season are on sale now. To get on the priority list for tickets or for more information on the 2004 Pacific Conference Champion Sioux Falls Storm, visit www.siouxfallsstorm.com or contact the Storm office at 605-332-4225.
