Sioux Falls Storm News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm (11-3) are traveling to Phoenix this Saturday to take on the defending champion Arizona Rattlers (11-3) for the semifinal round of the IFL Playoffs.
The Storm look to get back on track against the Rattlers after dropping their last three contests, including the 2017 United Bowl and two regular season games during the 2018 season. The last time the teams faced off was on April 16th where the Storm lost 40-48. In that game, quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed seven of his 18 attempts for 122 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while rushing 11 times for 41 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Lyle McCombs had six carries for 69 yards and one touchdown and had two receptions for 22 yards. Wide receiver Mike Tatum caught four passes for a game-high 92 yards and one touchdown, he also rushed four times for 26 yards and one touchdown. Kicker Miles Bergner went a perfect two for two on field goals and hit four out of five extra points. Defensive back Jabari Gorman grabbed one interception.
This should be a close but high scoring game with both teams in the top two in the league for total offense. The Storm are trying to advance their ninth consecutive United Bowl and the Rattlers are looking for their second straight United Bowl bid.
The game will kick-off in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, June 23 at 8:00 PM CT. You can cheer for the Storm by watching online through the IFL's YouTube channel, listening to Rich Roste on KELO FM 107.9 or by going to the live viewing party at Eastway Lounge.
