(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that 97.3 The Fox WJZE will continue as the radio home of Toledo Storm hockey. The Fox is a classic hits station that will carry all seventy-two regular season and playoff games for the 2004-05 campaign, and has a target demo of men 25-49. Matt Melzak will return for his second season and will handle all of the play-by-play duties.
Vice President and General Manager of the Toledo Storm Mike Miller said, "We are extremely pleased to continue to have 97.3 The Fox as the radio home of Toledo Storm hockey. I like to have stability in a broadcast location and we have achieved that. This will continue to allow our great fans in the local and surrounding areas to listen to all of our games, home and away. Everyone involved is pleased at the move."
Brian Kohler, Sales Manager of 97.3 The Fox WJZE, talked about the agreement, "Clear Channel was very pleased with the Toledo Storm on The Fox last season, and felt strongly about keeping them there for this coming season. The signal and clarity of WJZE allows for quality sound of the game broadcasts and the ability to reach a large audience."
The Toledo Storm Coaches Show also made a move to Fox Sports Radio 1230 for the upcoming year. Head Coach Nick Vitucci will join Matt Melzak on the air weekly during the season on Tuesday night from 6-7pm.
