Island Storm News Release

The Island Storm announced this morning their finalized training camp roster with the addition of Justin Leemow.

Leemow, a 6'1", 175 lbs point guard, was selected in the third round (28 th overall) of this year's NBLC draft by the Storm.

The Brooklyn, NY native attended the renowned Mount Zion high school in Georgia, the same high school that produced NBA standouts Tracy McGrady and Amar'e Stoudemire. Leemow played for the University of Southern Florida in the BIG East from 2008-2010, before transferring to North Carolina Central where he averaged 4.6 points and 1.8 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Last season, Leemow played for the North Dallas Vandals, one of the top teams in the ABA. Leemow helped lead the Vandals to the ABA National Finals averaging 18.6 points, and 7.7 assists per game, on his way to being named to the ABA South West All-Star team, as well as the ABA Rookie of the Year.

Storm Head Coach Joe Salerno looks for Leemow to be a strong competitor for a point guard role on this year's roster.

"Justin is just a great competitor, with a tremendous amount of talent. He has great court sense and vision. He is always aware of what is going on around him. He has the ability to control a game and make his teammates around him better ball players. Guys on this team will love playing with guy like Justin Leemow."

With the signing of Leemow, the Island team will have 18 players reporting to training camp on Wednesday.
