
Storm Continue to Build 2007 Roster

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing of three more players to the 2007 roster. The Storm has added offensive linemen Ya'Tarrie Brown and CJ Sanderson along with defensive back Eric Washington. Brown and Sanderson each have indoor football experience as they both started all 15 games the Peoria Rough Riders of the UIF during 2006. Brown and Sanderson were the only players on the entire Rough Rider roster to start every game. Washington will be entering his first season of indoor football.
Brown and Sanderson anchored the offensive line together at Concordia- St. Paul during the 2003 and 2005 seasons. Brown played in 9 games in 2003 before taking his redshirt year in 2004. The 2005 season brought numerous accolades to Brown as he was named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) First-Team as well as Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Region Second Team. Brown was also named to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team. Brown and Sanderson lead the Bears to rushing success in 2005 as the team accumulated a team record 2,867 yards. The Bears ranked 11th in Division II in rushing yards. The Bear offensive line also held opponents to just 17 sacks during their 9-3 season.
Sanderson played right tackle from 2002-2005 for the Golden Bears. Sanderson saw limited action in 2002 before starting eight games in 2003, when the Bears finished 8-4. In 2004, Sanderson started all 11 games for the Bears and was named to the All-NSIC Second Team. The Bears finished 7-4 and Sanderson helped the team rush for over 2,700 yards as the Bears won the NSIC Championship in 2004. Concordia St. Paul won their second consecutive NSIC title in 2005 and Sanderson was named a d2football.com All-Region Honorable Mention for his efforts.
Washington saw playing time in all four of his seasons at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU). Washington arrived at DWU from Monroe, LA in 2003. Washington played in 11 games in 2004 and tallied 71 tackles and four interceptions during the 2004 season. Washington saw playing time in 10 games again in 2005 as he had 38 tackles and an interception. Washington's senior season in 2006 was phenomenal as he recorded 96 tackles from his defensive back position, which ranked second in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Washington also compiled eight interceptions, which was third in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). After the season, Washington was recognized by the GPAC by being selected to the All-Conference Second Team.
