Storm Bring Down Axemen

May 17, 2014 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm fought off a determined Bemidji Axemen team Saturday 34-13. They keep the perfect season improving to (10-0) while the Bemidji Axemen fall to (5-6).

The Axemen kept the Storm Shelter quiet for most of the first half, holding the Storm to only 7 points through the first quarter and most of the second. That was until the dynamic duo of Chris Dixon and Judd Harrold got things going. Late in the first quarter Dixon connected with Harrold for a 34-yard strike that ignited the offense and the crowd.

Storm quarterback Chris Dixon finished the night with 259 yards on 22 for 34 passing while adding another two touchdowns to his impressive season.

Judd Harrold and James Terry both had big night for the Storm combining for 154 yards.

Once again the Storm defense was a deciding factor in the eventual Storm win. The Axemen came up unsuccessful multiple times in the redzone Saturday night. Eze Obiora collected all four of the Storm's sacks on the night and also accounted for one of the two blocked field goals. Patrick Wells, who accounted for 10 of the Storm's 47 total tackles, led the Storm defense Saturday night.

The Storm hit the road following Saturday's game as they travel down south to take on United Conference foe, the Texas Revolution. That game is scheduled for Saturday, May 24 with kickoff set for 7:05 pm. Tune into KELQ/KELO 107.9 FM/1320 AM to catch all the action.
