December 18, 2023 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Seattle Storm News Release
SEATTLE - The 2024 Seattle Storm season presented by Symetra tips off at home as the Storm hosts Minnesota on Tuesday, May 14 for Opening Night presented by Providence Swedish, the first of a 40-game schedule announced by the WNBA today.
Unlike its previous two seasons, the Storm opens the 2024 campaign with 10 of its first 15 games on the road beginning with a visit to Minnesota on May 17 and the Storm's only back-to-back games of the season: at Washington (May 19) and at New York (May 20).
Seattle's travels come up to an abrupt halt in late June as the Storm plays a WNBA-record nine-straight home games from June 23 through July 14 before closing out the first half of the season in Los Angeles on July 16. Outside of that, the Storm's longest homestand is just three games with the team playing four one-game homestands and two two-game homestands.
With the 2024 Paris Olympics taking place July 26-August 11, the WNBA takes a 30-day break beginning with the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game on July 20. The Storm returns after the Olympic break with 15 games over the final 35-days of the season-13 of those coming with just one day off between games. Seattle opens the second half with road games in Atlanta (Aug. 16), Indiana (Aug. 18) and Washington (Aug. 20) before returning home to face Washington again on Aug. 26.
The Storm's final three games of 2024 begin with home games against Los Angeles (Sept. 15) and defending WNBA champions Las Vegas (Sept. 17) before wrapping up the regular season in Phoenix on Sept. 19.
The 2024 season once again features the Commissioner's Cup in-season tournament, though with a different format announced by the league earlier today. Each team plays just one cup qualifying game against each its fellow conference teams with those games taking place June 1-13. The Commissioner's Cup final game will be contested on June 25 at the site of the team with the best record.
All 40 Storm games will be televised by FOX 13 or FOX 13+, the television home of the Seattle Storm, or on national carriers. More information on television and streaming broadcasts options at a future date.
The Storm has already seen record renewals for 2024 season tickets with five months to go before the season starts. To join the growing list of Storm 360° Season Ticket Members, visit http://www.stormbasketball.com/, or call 206-217-WNBA (9622).
ADDITIONAL 2024 SCHEDULE NOTES:
The WNBA season begins on Tuesday, May 14 and concludes on Sunday, Sept. 19. The Storm opens its season on Tuesday, May 14 (7:00 p.m.) for Opening Night presented by Providence Swedish. It marks the Storm's first midweek season-opener since tipping off the 2004 season on a Thursday.
Of its 40 games, Seattle plays four each against seven teams and three each against the other four teams. The seven opponents the Storm sees four times (twice at home and twice on the road) includes Dallas, Indiana, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Phoenix, and Washington). The Storm plays three games against the remaining teams including two at home vs Atlanta and Chicago and one home game each vs New York and Connecticut.
Unlike in the last two seasons, the Storm opens with the bulk of its games on the road as 10 of its first 15 games comes outside of Seattle. After that, Seattle returns home for a WNBA-record nine-game homestand from June 23-July 14. Following the Olympic break, the Storm closes out its season with nine of its final 15 games on the road.
The Storm's longest road trip is just three games, something the team does four times over the course of the season. Outside of its WNBA-record nine-game homestand, the Storm's longest stretch of home games is three (Aug. 26-30) to go along with a pair of two-game homestands and four one-gamers.
Seattle has one back-to-back set of games this season (both on the road) and it comes right away: playing May 19 at Washington (3:00 pm ET), then on May 20 at New York (7:00 pm ET).
The Storm plays all four of its games against Minnesota and all three against Chicago before facing Atlanta for the first time on July 14. However, Seattle plays all three of its games against the Dream over a seven-game stretch which spans the Olympic break.

May - 3 Home, 5 Road
June - 5 Home, 5 Road
July - 6 Home, 1 Road
