SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team on Thursday afternoon announced several changes to the 2023 coaching staff.

New additions to the staff this season will include Andre Fields (Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator), Peyton Riggs (Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach), and Nick Pappas (Offensive Line Coach).

Returning to the staff for the 2023 season will be Storm Hall of Famer and long-time assistant Cory Johnsen (Special Teams Coordinator / Recruiting Coordinator / Defensive Line Coach) along with 2nd year assistant Kristen Porter (Running Backs Coach).

Andre Fields will be entering his 10th season overall as a coach with the Sioux Falls Storm. This will be his 2nd stint as a Defensive Coordinator after briefly holding the title during parts of the 2010-2011 seasons.

Coach Fields has been part of 5 Storm championships as a coach and has worked with numerous players who have gone on to earn All-IFL and Special Teams Player of the Year honors.

Fields played 8 seasons of Professional Indoor Football, 7 of those with the Sioux Falls Storm (2003-2009) where he holds an unofficial record of 108 consecutive starts. During the 2004 & 2005 seasons, Fields was voted First team All-League at Cornerback. He won 4 championships with Sioux Falls as a player and was a starter for the Storm squad that won 40 consecutive games, which included back-to-back undefeated seasons in 2006 & 2007.

In 2021 Andre Fields was inducted into the Sioux Falls Storm Hall of Fame.

Coach Fields will replace long-time defensive coordinator Brian Hermanson, who announced his retirement during the offseason.

Peyton Riggs will take over Offensive Coordinator duties for the Storm during the 2023 Season. This will be Peyton's 3rd season with the coaching staff overall. Riggs spent the 2022-2023 football season working with the University of Washington football team serving as an Offensive Recruiting Analyst and Scout. He is also the Associate Director at the Riggs Premier Football Academy, where he assists his father and Sioux Falls Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs.

Former Augustana University standout Nick Pappas will take over Offensive Line coaching duties for the Storm in 2023. Pappas made 38 career starts at left guard for the Augustana Vikings from 2010-2014 and was part of the offensive line that helped pave the way for future NFL running back CJ Ham. That same offensive line unit set a single season record at Augustana University with 5,124 yards of total offense. Pappas previously spent two seasons handing offensive line coaching duties for the varsity squad in Mason City, Iowa.
