Storm and Stealth take it to overtime

Anaheim, CA (January 25, 2004) - The Anaheim Storm (0-3) played into overtime on Sunday night for the second time in just three games. At the end of regulation, the score was tied 7-7 with their Northern California rivals, the San Jose Stealth (3-1).

Goaltenders Matt Roik (Storm) and Brandon Miller (Stealth) held the players to a low scoring game allowing a total of only seven goals in the first quarter; one in the second; four in the third and two in the fourth. The game winning goal was scored nearly one minute into overtime when Mike Regan (5G) of the Stealth shot a ball passed Roik for the fifth time. The score final score, Stealth 8, Storm 7.

Scoring for the Anaheim Storm was a team effort as Chris Panos lead the way with two goals and five teammates followed with one goal a piece, Casey Powell (1G, 2A); Stephen Evans (1G, 2A); Mark Morley (1G); Michael Law (1G) and Joe Ghedina (1G).

Powell, who lives in Newport Beach, California, leads the team with 16 points since the start of the season (6G, 10A). Panos is in second behind Powell with 7 goals and 5 assists (12 points) after tonight. In addition to Regan, Dan Teat scored three goals for the San Jose Stealth.

The Anaheim Storm played a record three overtimes against the Arizona Sting on January 10th, before falling 19-18. Looking for the first win of the season, the Anaheim Storm will take on the Calgary Roughnecks Sunday, February 8th. The game will be televised on Fox Sports West 2.
