Storm Adds Depth to Defensive Line

The Sioux Falls Storm of Indoor Football League (IFL) has re-signed yet another veteran for the 2009 season. Two-way lineman Anthony Thomas AKA "Big Daddy" will provide depth for the 2009 Storm. Thomas will be entering his third season with the Storm.

Thomas will again provide the team depth at both offensive and defensive line. Thomas recorded six tackles and two sacks in his two years playing in a reserve role with the Storm.

Thomas attended the University of Arizona from 1997 to 2001 and was a letter winner each season he played. Thomas started at defensive tackle for much of the 1998 season before taking his red shirt year in 1999. Thomas was back in his starting role in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Thomas recorded 12 sacks during the 1998 season in which Arizona went 12-1 compiling the best record in school history.

Following his time in college, Thomas spent training camp with the Washington Redskins and played in two pre-season games in 2002. Thomas also spent time with the outdoor, semi-pro LA Gunslingers during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Thomas was a league all-star during his time in LA. He joined the Sioux City Bandits for the 2005 season and played in 14 games. Thomas accounted for 24 tackles and 5.5 sacks for Sioux City. In 2006, Thomas spent most of his playing time on the offensive line. The Bandits rush offense was best in the UIF in 2006 averaging 93.4 yards per game.
