Storm Add One More Prior to Season Opener

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing of former Washington Redskin and Sioux City Bandit, Anthony Thomas for the 2007 season. Thomas joined the Bandits for the 2005 season and played both offensive and defensive line for the Bandits last season.

Thomas attended the University of Arizona from 1997 to 2001 and was a letter winner each season he played. Thomas started at defensive tackle for much of the 1998 season before taking his red shirt year in 1999. Thomas was back in his starting role in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Thomas' best season came in 2001 when he compiled 27 tackles for the Wildcats. Thomas also recorded 12 sacks during the 1998 season in which Arizona went 12-1 compiling the best record in school history.

Following his time in college, Thomas spent training camp with the Washington Redskins and played in two pre-season games in 2002. Thomas also spent time with the outdoor, semi-pro LA Gunslingers during the summer of 2004. Thomas joined the Sioux City Bandits for the 2005 season and played in 14 games. Thomas accounted for 24 tackles and 5.5 sacks for Sioux City. In 2006, Thomas spent most of his playing time on the offensive line. The Bandits rush offense was best in the UIF last year averaging 93.4 yards per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Thomas had 7 tackles last season.

Player camp wrapped up this morning as the Storm gets ready to kickoff the 2007 season at Rock River on Saturday, March 24 with a 7:05pm kickoff. You can listen to the voice of the Storm, Rich Roste, with the call of the game on AM 1230 KWSN with the pre-game starting at 6:45pm Saturday night.
