Storm Add Defensive Back To Roster

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm added defensive back Brandon Jones to the roster and traded wide receiver/linebacker Victor Williams to the Milwaukee Mustangs, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

Jones (5-foot-11, 180 lbs., Georgia State) enters his rookie season with the Tampa Bay Storm. He spent two seasons at Mars Hill College prior to transferring to Georgia State as a walk-on in 2009. He quickly became a starter and was the second leading tackler during the programs inaugural season in 2010. In 2011 he battled injuries but finished the season playing in eight games. In two seasons at Georgia State he recorded 103 tackles, four for a loss, seven pass break ups, two fumble recoveries and an interception.

He prepped at Southwest DeKalb high school (DeKalb, GA) where he surpassed fellow alumnus Quincy Carter's school record for career touchdown passes.

Williams (6-4, 225, Northern Iowa) appeared in five games and started three. He split time in each game playing wide receiver and Jack linebacker. For the season he recorded 11 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns, he added 7.5 tackles on defense. The team received the first position in the free agent claim order in return.
