San Jose CyberRays News Release
SAN JOSE (Jan. 28, 2003) â The San Jose CyberRays and Stonyfield Farm today are announcing a one-year sponsorship agreement.
Under the agreement, the New Hampshire-based organic yogurt company will sponsor a Stonyfield Farm halftime contest at CyberRays matches, provide sampling of its organic and all-natural yogurts to fans, participate in grassroots and player appearance events, and receive advertising space inside Spartan Stadium.
The agreement is an outgrowth of Stonyfield Farm's earlier sponsorship participation with the WUSA Boston Breakers and is part of the yogurt company's expansion into West Coast markets.
``We're very excited and pleased that Stonyfield Farm has chosen the CyberRays as a key component of its West Coast expansion,'' said Marlene Bjornsrud, CyberRays general manager. ``Our family fan base is attuned to good health in its food selections, which makes it the perfect group to introduce to Stonyfield's quality products.''
Founded in 1983 in Wilton, N.H., Stonyfield Farm has become the nation's largest producer of organic yogurt and is known for its environmental consciousness, for which it has received numerous awards, and devotion to social causes.
``We look forward to working with the CyberRays, as both organizations believe in promoting fitness, good health and wellness for girls and women,'' said Gary Hirshberg, Stonyfield Farm president and CEO.
The CyberRays are one of eight teams in the WUSA, the world's only fully professional women's soccer league, and they will open their third season April 5 against the Philadelphia Charge in Spartan Stadium.
