Stone Crabs to Host First Faith Night on June 5

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs baseball team is partnering with the Englewood Helping Hand to host their first-ever Faith Night concert series at Charlotte Sports Park on Friday, June 5.

The family-friendly event will feature a pre-game concert by recording artist Julianna Zobrist (who recently married Tampa Bay Rays infielder Ben Zobrist) that starts at 6:00 p.m. before the Stone Crabs take on the Daytona Cubs at 7:05 p.m. Zobrist has performed at other ballparks around the country, and she is familiar with Charlotte County after spending time in the area during the Tampa Bay Rays 2009 Spring Training.

A canned food drive that benefits the Englewood Helping Hand will also take place as fans enter the gates before the game. The Helping Hand organization distributes food to those in need, and the fan who donates the most items at the gates will receive a complimentary Luxury Suite Night at a future Stone Crabs home game.

"The Faith Night concert series helps to further define the family-friendly atmosphere of a Stone Crabs home game," said Joe Hart, general manager of the Stone Crabs. "This is a great opportunity for churches and families around the area to come together for a great night of faith, fellowship and fun."

The Stone Crabs will host their second Faith Night of the season on Friday, July 17, with recording artist and former Major League All-Star pitcher Kent Bottenfield performing the pre-game concert.
