After dropping the series opener against Florida, the Stone Crabs look to even the series at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. RHP Stephen Woods Jr. makes the start for Charlotte, against RHP Freddy Tarnok of Florida.

CRABS FALL TO FROGS 5-4 IN 10

The Charlotte Stone Crabs were unable to score in the bottom of the tenth Monday, dropping the series opener to Florida 5-4 in 10 innings. Jake Palomaki and Garrett Whitley each lined two hits in the loss. Starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez limited the Fire Frogs to one earned run over five innings, while Trey Cumbie worked two scoreless in relief.

PLAYOFF CRABS

The Stone Crabs clinched their fifth playoff appearance in the franchise's 11-year history Saturday. Charlotte will host Game 1 of the FSL Southern Division Championship Series against the Fort Myers Miracle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3. The Stone Crabs have raised one FSL banner, winning it all in 2015. They've advanced to the championship series all four times they've been in the playoffs.
